In its first regular board meeting of 2016, the Village of Twin Lakes welcomed two new eras, both in administration and law enforcement.

At the board meeting, the village introduced Julie Harms as the new Village Clerk, replacing Cathy Richardson, whose last day was Jan. 8.

“We didn’t swear her in tonight, because we have to have a village clerk at all times,” said Village Administrator Jennifer Frederick. “We swore her in earlier, the last thing Cathy did before she walked out the door.”

While Richardson was not at the meeting, Village President Howard Skinner told board members that he was grateful for her dedication to the community.

“I would have liked to have her come and thank her, but she is not coming,” Skinner said.

Harms, who previously served as the deputy clerk, has been an employee of the village since 2011.

Meanwhile, former detective Josh Cooper received a promotion to Lieutenant, filling a six-month vacancy when current Police Chief Adam Grosz received a promotion.

“It feels good to move up the ranks, and now the administration part of it, making decisions and doing what needs to be done as a supervisor,” Cooper said.

Cooper has been an officer in Twin Lakes since 2008.
