Nearly 400 voters took to the polls in the Village of Twin Lakes, where they decided on the first local primary in more than a decade, with two incumbents advancing to the April 5 general election.

Along with current Board Clerk Kathy Ticha and President Amanda Hahn, the top two vote-getters, Steve Turner and Scott Whipple will join them on the ballot.

The two who did not receive enough votes to move forward in Lakewood were Barry Woods and Nicholas Heckel.

In the Village of Silver Lake, more than 1,000 voters trimmed the general election field from seven to six, with first-time runner Laura Francart receiving the most votes at 211.

Following Francart in the tightly contested primary, incumbent Daniel Withers snagged 208 votes, with Bob Raymond obtaining 207.

Rounding out the final three were Kimberly Gerber (136), incumbent Roger Johnson (134) and Eldon Johnston (126).

Kevin Kusters Sr. was eliminated from contention after receiving 76 votes.
