Effective July 1, Wheatland Center School will have a new principal and Bristol School District welcomes its fourth District Administrator in more than 50 years.

Lake Geneva Middle School co-principal Drew Halbesma was selected among 75 applicants as the new principal of Wheatland Center School at a March board meeting.

Lured by the January posting, Halbesma wanted the Wheatland position, noting his upbringing.
“I grew up in a K-8 school in Yorkville, IL and have always loved the small, family feel and the way the school community can really make a difference in kids’ lives,” Halbesma said in email.

He fills vacancy left when Patti Clements resigned at the start of the 2015-16 academic year to take a Kenosha Unified School District position.

In Bristol, current Wilmot Union High School Director of Teaching and Learning Michael Juech is the eventual District Administrator at Bristol School District.

Juech, who served WUHS for three years, replaces retiring Gale Ryczek, the school’s administrator for more than 20 years.

While Juech has always shown an interest in the role, he will notably miss the staff and students of Wilmot Union High School.

“Wilmot has been a welcoming school community. I am proud of the work that our students and staff have accomplished,” Juech said.

The Westosha Report will have the full stories of both moves in the April 15 edition.
