Missing woman found

Lorraine Mueller, 88, was subject of a Silver Alert

Lorraine Mueller, 88, of Salem, who was reported missing Thursday, was found late Friday morning, according to Kenosha County authorities.

She was spotted near a water treatment facility by people who, in turn, notified Kenosha County sheriff’s deputies who were searching the area for her, according to a news release issued by Sgt. Dan Ruth.

Mueller appeared to be uninjured, the release said.

Ruth said Mueller had been transported to a nearby hospital for medical assessment.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice issued a Silver Alert regarding Mueller at 1:55 p.m. Thursday. According to the alert, she had last been seen about 7 a.m. Thursday.

In an earlier news release, Ruth said law enforcement officials and family members had searched through the night and had ramped up efforts Friday morning with neighbors, a sheriff’s dog, and deputies on all-terrain vehicles joining in the search. Ruth said officials also considered using a helicopter to search from the air and a boat to search nearby Hooker Lake.

“Area trails have been mapped and a methodical search is underway now with detectives and the Department of Aging also assisting,” Ruth said Friday morning.
