While alcohol did not play a role in Friday’s fatal accident of a 50-year-old Illinois man, authorities are still investigating the crash that occurred in the Town of Randall, according to a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department press release.

The press release stated the driver identified as Arthur Kraft of Spring Grove was driving southbound in a 2010 Ford F250 truck in the 12400 block of Fox River Road, struggled through the curved road, which resulted in the vehicle getting submerged into a nearby pond.

Authorities including Silver Lake Rescue arrived to the scene shortly after 6 p.m. Friday to discover passing motorists attempting to aid Kraft.

“Passersby worked to extricate Kraft who was apparently unresponsive,” the release said. “Several people including arriving deputies performed CPR until area rescue units arrived to take over.”

Further information will be available in the April 29 edition of the Westosha Report.
