For the last 16 years, Marv and Alison’s name was synonymous with Sentry Foods in Paddock Lake, but it will end May 10.

At an undisclosed sale, Skogen’s Festival Foods bought the 27,500-square-foot building April 18, and will keep the store’s current branding.

“Marv and Alison are retiring after being in business in Paddock Lake for 16 years,” said Festival’s Community Involvement Specialist Samantha Fenlon via email.

A press release issued by the company said several businesses had approached owners Marv and Alison Jenkins over the years, but the owners resisted selling.

“We’ve resisted these efforts until Festival Foods showed interest,” Marv Jenkins said.

Despite change in ownership, Fenlon said, Festival Foods is planning to keep current employees under the new name, Lakeside Sentry.

“Festival Foods will continue to operate the store as a Sentry Foods, Lakeside Sentry, and plan to retain as many current employees as possible,” Fenlon said.

Fenlon added the De Pere-based business wanted to go beyond the 22 stores they have in Wisconsin.

“We are always looking at opportunities to continue to serve our guests,” she said.

Furthermore, unlike the other 22 stores, Festival Foods plans to keep the store-branding sold at Sentry.

Festival Foods President and CEO Mark Skogen is looking forward to serving the Paddock Lake community, according to a press release.

“We are honored to become a member of this great Wisconsin community,” Skogen stated. “We are looking forward to serving Sentry Foods’ guests at the store.”
