New coach calls parent/player meeting May 18

Ben Michelau has been named as Westosha Central’s new girls basketball coach, in a statement released by the school Athletic Director Jonathan Lindh.

Michelau, who coached at Bristol Grade School, replaces Jerod Boyd.

“Coach Michelau brings to Westosha Central a wealth of basketball knowledge and a desire to produce a winning basketball culture,” Lindh said in the statement.

The Lady Falcons new coach held a similar position at Bristol Grade School, where he coached the eighth grade squad since 2006.

Michelau takes over a program that finished 21-46 overall the last three years and placed seventh in the Southern Lakes Conference last season.

All coaching contracts are up for renewal on annual basis, Lindh said.

Michelau and the coaching staff are calling a parent and player meeting 7 p.m. May 18 in the school gym.
