Radar Run cancelled; rescheduled for March 3

The Twin Runners Snowmobile Club has suspended its fourth annual radar run on Sunday, Feb. 12 ,on the East end of Lake Mary in front of the Pier West Restaurant. The club wants at least 10 inches of ice for safety and it’s just not there right now.

The event has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 3, if the ice is thick enough.

The Mach 3 event will include the same lineup:

Snowmobiles of all types will make timed runs down an ice strip 1.000 feet long. Everything from antique machines to highly modified race sleds will compete. There are classes for all types of snowmobiles.

Trophies will be awarded in all classes, with a $100 cash prize for the fastest speed recorded. Should you wish to run your machine, tether safety switches are required. Registration begins at 9 a.m. with timed runs beginning at 10:00.

Food and drink specials will be available at Pier West throughout the day, as well as a unique outdoor Tiki bar. Pier West is located at 511 Wilmot Ave. in Twin Lakes. There is limited parking at the event site, and additional participant and spectator parking at Lance Park.  The event is co-sponsored by the Wonder Lake Lakers Snowmobile Club.
