Chamber Choir holding suicide prevention benefit

The Kenosha Chamber Choir will hold a 7 p.m. May 14 benefit at St. John the Evangelist Church in Twin Lakes, 701 N. Lake Ave., with proceeds going toward Just Live Inc. – a local charity that raises funds for mental health education and suicide prevention.

The choir has performed in Illinois and Wisconsin since 2005, including collaborations with the Racine, Kenosha and Waukegan Symphonies.

The presentation includes “major works of Bach, Mozart, and other leading composers,” the release stated.

Just Live Inc., the beneficiary, seeks to provide mental health services to those unable to receive them. Services and support include counseling, medication, wellness programs and other resources not available to them.

Just Live Inc. is also seeking volunteers to “Sponsor a Senior,” after some residents in assisted living and nursing facilities have expressed interest in attending the event.

Cost of tickets are $10, and available at the door the night of the presentation.
