Another one in the books for Lady Panthers’ Martin

Junior Maddie Martin had another one for the record books in Tuesday’s Southern Lakes Conference meet in Lake Geneva, where she garnered top honors in the two sprint events, and another on a relay squad.

Martin, who notched a school and Kenosha County Meet record in the 400-meter dash, added her second school record in the 200-meter dash when she clocked in at 26.32 seconds in Tuesday’s meet at Badger High School.

Additionally, she added a second SLC title in the 400-meter dash, outpacing Elkhorn’s Gabby Pinnow by three seconds and recorded a time of 59.12.

Martin, along with senior Rebecca Alter, juniors Rachel Kostrova and Julia Shurtleff were part of the 1,600-meter championship squad.

In addition to three first place finishes, the Lady Panthers added three second place honors, Alter in the 200, Kristen Carlson in the triple jump and Julissa Scott in the high jump.

Adding to Wilmot Union High School’s trifecta of first-place finishes were Alter in the 200-meter dash, junior Kristen Carlson in the triple jump and Julissa Scott in the high jump.

Jayden Jesse snags three titles for the boys

Panthers Jayden Jesse grabbed three Southern Lakes Conference titles, one individual and two on relays, in Tuesday’s meet held in Lake Geneva.

Jayden Jesse, a senior, took a top finish in the 100-meter dash and contributed to the 400- and 1,600-relay teams.

In the 400-relay event, Jayden Jesse accompanied sophomore Anthony Poco, who teamed up with Jayden Jesse in the 1,600-relay, and seniors Evan Orre and Anthony Klein to make up the championship squad.

Along with Jayden Jesse and Poco, sophomore Jordan Jesse and Matt Cieslak were on the winning 1,600-relay squad.

Additionally, senior Wyatt Heckel added the fourth total title when he finished first in the pole vault when he edged Badger’s John Holman by one-foot-six inches, clearing the bar at 13-06.
