Led by the strong pitching performance of Parker Krumm, Westosha Central defeated visiting Racine Case, and advanced to a WIAA Division 1 regional final June 2 at Ginger Beaumont Field in Burlington.

Krumm, who tossed five innings, allowed three runs on five hits, in spite of weather conditions.

“Parker did the job we needed him to do tonight tonight,” said Falcons’ coach Jacob Morman. “It was a difficult day to pitch with the field conditions with all the rain, but he never made an excuse.”

Westosha Central jumped on the Eagles early, plating three runs in the bottom of the first to give Krumm cushion.

Tanner Bykowski, who drove in a team-leading five runs, sparked the three-run frame with a run-scoring double to left-center field.

Westosha Central entered the bottom of the fourth inning with a deadlock after Racine Case added a run in the second and two in their half of the fourth inning.

However, Bykowski, who went 2-for-2, came through in the fourth with a bases-clearing double to plate all three.

“Tanner has been excellent at the plate this season continues to come through in big spots,” Morman said.

Other key contributors to the Falcons’ offensive attack were Bryce Biedryzcki (1-2, two RBI), Jack Schroeder (1-1, two walks) and Garrett Gilbert, who had three walks in the game.
