Fatality confirmed in Bristol head-on collision

UPDATE:

Kenosha County authorities identified the 38-year-old Salem woman killed in a head on collision Wednesday as Robin Jones, formerly of Round Lake, Illinois, according to a Sheriff’s Department press release.

Jones, pronounced dead at the scene in the 20900 block of Highway C in Bristol, had been driving westbound in a Gray Chevrolet HHR with a 23-month-old child when she lost control, colliding with a Mercury Villager van driven by Nathan Woodmaster of Antioch.

“The operator of the Chevy HHR, a 38-year-old woman, of Salem, WI, was fully ejected upon impact,” the release stated. “She was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office.”

The 23-month-old was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non life threatening injuries.

Woodmaster suffered “significant injuries and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital as well, before being transported to Froedtert Hospital for further treatment,” the release said.

Fire and rescue units from the Town of Salem and Village of Bristol responded to the scene along with the Sheriff’s Department.

The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department confirmed there was a traffic fatality near the 20900 block of  Highway C in Bristol Wednesday evening.

Preliminary reports note two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision at about 4:30 p.m., where a driver suffered fatal injuries after getting ejected, according to Sgt. Doug Bourdo of the Sheriff’s Department.

Sgt. Bourdo stated that one of the involved vehicles crossed the center line for an unknown reason.

Additionally, investigators are currently wrapping up the report on scene, with more information expected for release later.
