It’s time for kids to get ready to ride in Paddock Lake.

Children can put patriotic decorations on those bikes and even dress up themselves to celebrate Independence Day in the annual Paddock Lake bike parade July 2.

Kids should head to Mcalonan Park on 248th Ave. at 9:30 a.m. to ride in the annual Paddock Lake parade.

The parade will kick off at 10 a.m. and the route will be down 248th Ave. back to the village hall where hot dogs, chips and a drink will be served

Paddock Lake resident Tina Fincher will be on hand for face painting.

The first, second and third place winners of the children’s (under age 18) bike decoration contest will each receive $325. The individual, child or adult, who wins best costume, will win $25.

The Salem Township Rescue Squad Association, care of Tom and Pat Flowers, donated the $1,000 in prize money. Village engineers Baxter and Woodman donated $250 used to purchase refreshments.
