Shortstop excited to join Division 1 school

Lady Panthers’ senior Kalyssa Koehn has verbally committed to join the Division 1 North Dakota State University softball team in an announcement made via Twitter Tuesday.

Koehn, a second-team all-state shortstop, stated “blessed to announce that I have committed to North Dakota State.”

Koehn confirmed her announcement with the Westosha Report and Twin Lakes Report, adding that she is “really excited” to join the Bisons in Fargo, North Dakota.

As a junior, where she also earned 1st-team Southern Lakes Conference honors, Koehn led the Lady Panthers in multiple offensive categories.

She batted a team-leading .495, collecting 48 hits, 18 were for extra bases including 11 doubles and four home runs. Through 97 total at bats, Koehn struck out just three times.

Additionally, she scored 38 runs and batted in 36.
