Business in the Park and a classic car show returns for a third straight year collectively Saturday along Main Street in Twin Lakes.

Business in the Park, starting at 9 a.m. is in its fourth year, and has at least 10 participating local organizations and vendors showcasing their products.

“Business in the Park has replaced the Business Expo that was formerly held in March,” said Chamber Executive Director Marilyn Trongeau.

Participating organizations include New Era Realty, Slades Corners Computer Repair, Athletico Physical Therapy, Sons of the American Legion, Aurora Prescription Dispensing Center, Costco Wholesale, Twin Lakes Aquanuts, Crafty by Nature, Lularoe by Abby Wilson and Walnut Ridge Candles by Kristine Blum.

More organizations could sign up for a booth, Trongeau said.

“I have several more, Westosha Lakes Church and Just Live, Inc., that are working on getting a booth,” she said. “We don’t have a deadline so there might be more yet to come.”

While adults explore the booths, there are activities for children, including a bouncy house, crafts at Central Park, weather permitting.

Corrine Nordigian of the Community Library is coordinating the children’s activities.

Officials from the Twin Lakes Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Police Department and Town of Randall Fire Department expect to present information to people and showcase their equipment.

The Classic Car Show, in its third year, brought in 12 cars last year and 32 in the inaugural event.

Trongeau states weather plays a role in car show entries.

“These cars are very valuable and the owners don’t take them out in inclement weather,” she said. “Car owners can sign up at the event.”

Voting, conducted by People’s Choice, concludes at 1:30 p.m. with awards given at 2 p.m.

Trophies are awarded to Best of Show along with first place honors for cars from each decade and a reward for Most Unique.

Before and during the show, officials will close Main Street at Burden and Lake avenues, so cars can enter from either direction and park on both sides of Main Street.

Trongeau states the event promotes community engagement, giving residents an opportunity to learn more about local organizations, and view classic cars from the golden era.

“People can meet the owners of local businesses, visit craft and vendor booths, have some lunch, look at impressive cars and vote for their favorite cars,” she said, adding the event is free.

Concession items including hot dogs, brats, homemade macaroni and cheese, snow cones, chips are available for purchase.

Business in the Park concludes at 3 p.m.
