GIRLS VOLLEYBALL: Lady Falcons open Joust tourney 3-0

WestoshaCentral-webThe Lady Falcons went undefeated on opening night of The Joust volleyball tournament held in Mequon, defeating the all three schools in two sets.

Westosha Central, who went 1-2 on opening night last year, started with a victory against Kimberly (25-16, 25-8), later defeating opponent Brookfield East in the second match (27-25, 25-21).

To close out Friday’s slate, Westosha Central beat Neenah (25-18, 25-23).

Sophomore Laura Shoopman pitched in with a team-leading 21 kills, and contributed defensively, adding 25 digs.

Sarah Blair, a senior libero, led with 42 digs while Kaeley Mueller had 18 kills.

Junior Devin Gillespie accumulated 10 kills and 18 digs.

Sophomore setters Sierra Lee had 30 assists and Kennedy Muff added 22 of her own.
