While sophomore Bianca Andersen jumped to 12-1, her Lady Panthers squad swept host Delavan-Darien in a Southern Lakes Conference showdown Thursday, and allowed just three total Comets’ points through all seven matches.
Andersen, who started the season 9-0, defeated Paulina Cruz 6-0, 6-0 while her sister Bella teamed up with Rylee Amundson in No. 1 doubles, beating Ybeth Gloria-Angeles Gomez (6-0, 6-1).
According to Wilmot Union High School coach Lisa Obertin, Bianca Andersen’s sole loss came against a Kenosha St. Joseph’s opponent that won state last year.
“Only loss so far is to the two-time Division 2 state champion, Claire Czerwonka,” Obertin stated via text message Thursday.
In other matches, Wilmot’s Brynn Amundson shutout Laura Farley in two sets at No. 2 singles while Kayla Potter had similar match against Comets’ Alicia Manfredini at No. 4 singles.
In another shutout, at No. 3 doubles, Jordan Potter and Shauna Murray defeated Nilda Ruvulcaba-Jennyfer Perez.
