Silver Lake event to help keep lake clear
The Silver Lake Protection Association has invited the public to attend an October Fest event held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24 at the Silver Lake Marina, 28836 Silver Lake Road, Salem.

In addition to a silent auction and raffle prizes, several food items are available, including pulled pork, bratwurst, hot dogs and a variety of desserts.

Proceeds from the event benefit the organization’s effort to keep Silver Lake free of invasive weeds.

Family-friendly Oktoberfest
Following its Oct. 2 regular church service at 9 a.m., Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church of Twin Lakes is hosting an Oktoberfest celebration, consisting of free food and games for children.

According to church member Kay Cooke, all members of the community, regardless of denomination are welcome to attend the event held at 876 Lance Drive.

Features include a bouncy house, horse shoe tournament, bocce ball and badminton with prizes award to top finishers.

For people interested in attending, organizers recommend they bring their own lawn chairs.

Lake Geneva’s Oktoberfest is Oct. 8
Lake Geneva’s Oktoberfest will take place downtown Lake Geneva from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 8.

The event will feature pony rides, bouncy houses, German music, children’s performances, brats, potato pancakes, and cider donuts, Scootoberfest games, the Giant Pumpkin Weigh-in and the Sprechtoberfest’s beer tent.

Guests can stroll through the downtown shops and see the colors around the lake.
