Authorities have yet to find the culprit in a rash of thefts of items from unlocked vehicles in the Nippersink and Powers Lake area of Kenosha County, according to Sgt. Eric Klinkhammer.

After the Sept. 26 incident, which involved six vehicles, the Sheriff’s Department strongly suggested residents keep their doors locked in a Facebook post last week.

“We urge all county residents to lock their cars when they are parked,” the post stated. “Don’t store valuables in your vehicles and help us prevent thefts.”

Valuables reportedly stolen were electronics, tools and money.

Additionally, the post encouraged residents to contact authorities for any tips leading to the arrest of suspects in the case.

However, since Sept. 28, Klinkhammer states, officials have not received any leads.

“There are no new developments, Klinkhammer said Monday.

If anyone has any information on these thefts, contact the Kenosha Sheriff’s Department at (262) 605-5100 or Crime stoppers at (262) 656-7333.
