While authorities identified the Twin Lakes man killed in a two-vehicle crash last week as 37-year Donald Stohr, they are still investigating the crash that also hospitalized a Genoa City man, according to Town of Bloomfield Police Chief Lloyd Cole.

Stohr, who was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene Oct. 5, was laid to rest on Saturday, according to his obituary.

According to a Town of Bloomfield press release issued Oct. 5, Stohr had been driving east on Highway 50, when is vehicle struck another driven by a Genoa City man as he attempted a left turn onto Eastside Road at about 6 p.m.

The Genoa City man, identified as Timothy Olsen, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

“I do not have an update on the injuries sustained by Olsen. I do not have information if the injuries sustained by Olsen were life threatening or not,” Cole said.

Meanwhile, Walworth County authorities and the Wisconsin State Patrol partially closed Highway 50 to assess the crash scene.

“The Wisconsin State Patrol is assisting with the investigation and crash reconstruction,” the press release stated. The release also said it was not known whether speed or alcohol were contributing factors.

Since the release, Cole stated there have been no new developments, however, the incident is still under investigation.

“About contributing factors, the crash remains under investigation,” Cole said.

In addition to the Town of Bloomfield Police Department, the Wisconsin State Patrol along with officials from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office, Genoa City Police Department, Bloomfield-Genoa City Fire and Rescue, and Paratech Ambulance assisted at the scene.
