Somers man dies in Town of Brighton crash

Alcohol and speed cited as possible factors

Speed and alcohol may have played a role in a fatal single-vehicle crash in the Town of Brighton Sunday.

A 29-year-old Somers man reportedly failed to maneuver a curve on Highway NN and struck a tree, according to a Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department news release.

When Kenosha County authorities arrived at the 24440 block of Highway NN, west of Highway 45, about 12:30 a.m., they discovered a damaged 2002 Jeep Cherokee and the driver identified as Jarron Lemay unresponsive.

Lemay, the sole occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kenosha County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Town of Salem fire and rescue personnel joined the sheriff’s officials at the scene.

“Speed and alcohol are believed to have contributed to this crash,” the release states.

This crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information on this crash is encouraged to call the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department at (262) 605-5100.

In last week’s Report story headlined “Somers man dies in Brighton crash,” it incorrectly identified the victim as Jarrod LeMay. The victim ‘s name should have been Jarron LeMay.
The Report apologizes to the LeMay family and regrets the error.
