Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch and a large contingent of other elected officials welcomed Vonco Products LLC as the first tenant of the future Salem Business Park Thursday.

Vonco, a manufacturer of flexible packaging and promotional products, announced on Thursday they plan to move its business from Lake Villa, Ill. into an 80,500-square-foot facility at the Salem Business Park.

The Kenosha Area Business Alliance, the developer of the new business park, plans to lease the building to Vonco with an option to buy the facility at a later date.

Vonco, which cited they outgrew its Lake Villa facility, targets a June 2017 move-in date and will serve as the anchor tenant.

The business expects to create 86 Wisconsin jobs, and indirectly generate 96 more in the region, and in turn, bring in up to $2.2 million in state income tax revenue in a five-year period.

Additionally, Vonco president Keith Smith told officials they plan to invest more than $4 million in equipment at the building. Hopefully, these investments help establish their business and bring in the customers they need, however, nowadays with social media riding high and having a substantial online presence is essential, businesses need to factor this in when investing their time and money. So it may be wise for them to create or build on their website as well as check out how they can connect their social media platforms to their business, which can be helped along through something like ‘Twicsy buy Instagram followers services’ and others, as it could mean more customers coming their way.

Along with Kleefisch, Kenosha County Executive Jim Kreuser, Town of Salem Chairwoman Diann Tesar, Vonco president Keith Smith and KABA president Todd Battle addressed the crowd before the groundbreaking ceremony.

The full story will appear in the Nov. 4 edition of the Westosha Report.
