While all five of Westosha Central High School’s varsity golfers garnered Academic All-State honors, so did McKenna Stanek for Wilmot Union, in a release issued by The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin on Wednesday.

The six combined girls golfers are among 323 to receive the honor, which goes to students who earned a minimum 3.25 grade point average, participated in at least 75 percent of their team’s varsity matches and at least a sophomore.

Earning the GCAW Academic All-State honors for Westosha Central were seniors Emily Allen, Lexi Carlson, Claudia Fox, Mallory Scheppa and Colleen Nolan.

According to the GCAW website, the five seniors obtained high honors in the classroom.

On the course, Allen qualified for the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 1 sectional as a

Like the five Falcons, Stanek also earned high honors in the classroom.

Stanek, a senior, earned accolades on the course as well throughout her tenure with the Panthers, starting with first-team all-Southern Lakes Conference honors as a sophomore, followed by a second team appearance her junior season.
