It’s maple-sugaring time at Hawthorn Hollow

On March 10 and 24, from 10 a.m. to noon, come observe how to tap sugar bush during the month of March at Hawthorn Hallow.

Visitors will take a journey back in time and discover the magic of maple sugaring. The Sugar Maple and history of maple sugaring is an important part of Wisconsin’s heritage.

Participants will experience through hands-on activities the arts and traditions of tapping a maple tree. The visit provides students with history of Native American traditions and techniques for capturing, collecting and cooking of maple syrup. This is a two-hour outdoor program. Dress for the weather! Wear warm coats, hats, mittens and boots if there is snow on the ground.

Register in advance. Space is limited.

Fee: adult members, $10, adult non-members, $15, children $5.
