Jam session set for March 25 in Silver Lake

The Silver Lake Community Growth Organization is hosting a Jam Session from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, at the Silver Lake American Legion, 307 N. Cogswell Drive. Cost is $5 to attend and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

On Sunday, April 8, also from 1 to 5 p.m. the band “Still Kickin’ JB (Just Barely)” will perform.  All ages are invited to attend these fun get-togethers.  Get out and get to know your Silver Lake neighbors.

The Silver Lake Community Growth Organization is also planning to hold gardening events under the direction of Master Gardner, and Growth member Jo Lasdasky.

A Farmer’s Market, composting, gardening and even a bird community are some of the other proposed ideas. A revitalization of the flower pots on Lake Street and pleasing additions to Veteran’s Park are also in the works.

The Citizen’s For Growth members welcome new members who wish to become involved in their community. There is no minimum participation requirement

Meetings are open to all at the Silver Lake Village Hall on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 6 p.m. just prior to the board meetings. Contact village president Jeff Albrecht or email [email protected].
