Casino Night to honor Cliff Cantwell
The Twin Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Business Association is holding its annual Casino Night and Auction on Saturday, Oct. 19, in memory of long-time community supporter Cliff Cantwell, 71, who died unexpectedly in March.
Cantwell had been a driving force behind the Chamber and had hosted many events at the Twin Lakes Country Club, which he owned.
Cantwell’s involvement stretched beyond the Chamber, however. He was one of the original four who organized the Aquanut Water Ski Team and at the time of his death was serving on the Twin Lakes Park Board.
He was also a member of the Twin Runners Snowmobile Club. Cantwell hosted the Kenosha County Golf open for many years and was a member of the Genoa City Lions Club, the Kenosha Area Business Alliance, organized the DARE program for Kenosha County and supported many other organizations. He had been a member of the Kenosha County Tavern League for 50 years.
The Chamber’s Casino Night will begin at 5 p.m. at fittingly, at the Twin Lakes Country Club Fairway Pavilion in Twin Lakes.
There will be a two-hour open bar, following by two hours of casino type gaming. There will be hors d/oeuvres and a buffet dinner. There will also be Vegas-style entertainment, raffles, auctions and prizes.
Guests can come as they are or dress in costume for a chance to win a prize.
Cost is $65 per person or $120 per couple. Tickets are available at the Chamber office. Call 877-2220 for more information.
The Chamber is in need of raffle prizes and donations. Funds raised are used to support the scholarship fund and local community events. Any donation will help a deserving student in the community. Donors will be prominently featured in the evening’s program and displayed with your gift. If you would like to donate, call the Chamber office for details at 877-2220 or @www.twinlakeschamber.com.
