While one Western Kenosha County school district faces a February primary election, two others have school board contests in the April 4 general election, according to data gathered from 10 districts by the Westosha Report.

For all elections, incumbents not seeking re-election had until Dec. 28 to file declaration of non-candidacy, while others had through Jan. 3 to submit their intentions to get elected.

In Silver Lake, five residents, including two incumbents are vying for positions on the Riverview School Board to force a primary in February, when candidates are narrowed from five to four.

The two incumbents, Mary Vozel and Bert Christensen, face challengers Joy Corona, DeeDee Amamezz and Adam Lang for the two seats.

Meanwhile, two other districts have contested elections, one at Lakewood School in Twin Lakes and the other at Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated School in Trevor.

Lakewood School
Despite a declaration of non-candidacy by incumbent Jennifer Matlock, there is a three-way contest for two board seats, including two return challengers.

Along with current Board Vice President Rhett Suhre, both Scott Whipple and Steve Turner are seeking another opportunity to serve the school board, after they advanced to last year’s primary election.

Term of service for the two board positions is three years.

Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated
Like Lakewood, one incumbent filed non-candidacy paperwork, Tom Steiner.

Although Steiner is not seeking re-election, incumbent Bill Barhyte faces two challengers, Matthew Goze and Michael Murdock.

Total compensation for the three-year term is $1,200 annually.

Newcomer arrives to Wheatland
While incumbent Timothy Driscoll declared his non-candidacy for a term of three years, another filed for re-election, Troy Bruley.

Bruley joins Rachael Crane, a newcomer, on the ballot.

Total compensation is $1,640.
