SGFD wants you to fill the boot

Spring Grove Firefighters will be out in force Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, May 4, 5, and 6, collecting donations with the Fill the Boot campaigns. All proceeds will help support the annual Camp I Am Me.

This camp is for kids who have been burnt in fires. This camp is held at Camp Duncan in Volo. This will the 20th year  for the camp and is sponsored by the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance.

The camp’s mission is to provide a safe environment for children who have experienced significant burn injuries. It is the camp’s goal to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which children have the opportunity to build their self-esteem as they enjoy the varied activities that make up their camp experience. The camp is held the third week of June each year.

Look for your Spring Grove firefighters the first weekend of May. They will be staking out many area street corners and store fronts in an effort to get camp donations.
