Open house at Westosha Senior Community Center

Diana Jaeger, Director of the Westosha Senior Community Center, and co-worker Linda Johnson, Daybreak Program Director, are hosting an open house at Westosha Senior Community Center on Friday, June 8, from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 19200 93rd Street (Hwy C), Bristol.

The open house is intended to raise awareness about the many quality programs offered to the senior population at the Westosha Senior Community Center, whose mission is to promote healthy aging, healthy families and a healthy community.

The Westosha Senior Center offers a large assortment of quality recreational activities, volunteer opportunities and services for older adults in western Kenosha County, including Senior Dining and Meals on Wheels.

Daybreak, which is located at the senior center, is an adult day program for people with Alzheimer’s or other memory loss disorders. It offers participants who are in early to middle stages of Alzheimer’s disease or related memory disorder enjoyable recreation/leisure activities involving socialization, exercise, music, games and crafts. This program also provides the Caregiver “time-away”/respite from caregiving responsibilities.

The Westosha Senior Community Center and Daybreak are both programs of sponsor KAFASI (Kenosha Area Family and Aging Service, Inc., a non-profit agency), 7730 Sheridan Road, Kenosha.

Everyone is encouraged to come and visit the center, both the young and young at heart. Complimentary refreshments will be served and there will be live entertainment, program exhibits, a gift certificate valued at $48 for a complimentary day at Daybreak for a loved one with Alzheimer’s or another memory loss disorder and much more. And as a way of expressing excitement about the open house, there will be a free $25 cash raffle every half hour during the open house. No purchase is necessary.
