Johnsburg residents reminded top purchase stickers

Vehicle stickers have been on sale at the Johnsburg Village Hall since June 1. The village board recently enacted increased fees for vehicle stickers purchased late. Residents have until Tuesday, July 29, to purchase the stickers or face high fees and a $100 fine for failure to display the stickers.

Applications have already been mailed. Stickers must be purchased by the close of business on July 29, to avoid paying a penalty.

If the pre-printed information on the card(s) sent to you is incorrect, correct the information and either bring the forms into the Village Hall or mail the postcard(s) with a check made payable to the Village of Johnsburg.

If you did not receive your application(s) or need additional ones, please contact the Village Hall at (815) 385- 6023.

Failure to receive an application in the mail does not absolve you from having to purchase a sticker. Any vehicle housed or registered in the village for more than 30 days of the year must have a sticker displayed. This regulation also applies to seasonal or weekend residents. Vehicles that have temporary license plates also must have a sticker as do company vehicles being kept in the Village that do not have a sticker from the town in which they are registered.

Sticker fees:

• Passenger cars and trucks up to 4 tons gross weight owned by persons under 64, $10;

• Passenger cars and trucks up to 4 tons gross weight owned by persons 64 and over, $5;

• Passenger cars and trucks with permanent disability license plates or placards, $5;

• Motorcycles or Motorbikes, $5;

• Trucks over 4 tons gross weight, $25.
