EAA AirVenture travel advisory

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) Northeast Region is reminding motorists heading to EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, that while US 41 road construction may be taking a brief break during the annual event in Winnebago County, drivers will still encounter road conditions in work zones that could cause backups, requiring patience and advanced planning. The week-long event will be held July 23-29 at Wittman Regional Airport.

People driving to the event should allow extra time to navigate construction along US 41 between Breezewood Lane in Neenah and 9th Avenue in Oshkosh. Speed limits within this segment of highway have been reduced to 55 mph. Motorists are also reminded that the WIS 21 interchange (Exit 119) on US 41 is closed for reconstruction for the duration of EAA AirVenture.

Traffic on both north and southbound US 41 is expected to be heavy next week, but especially on the opening day of the event, Monday, July 23 and on Friday, July 27, heading into the weekend. Drivers are asked to anticipate travel delays and if possible seek alternative routes.
