Town of Salem Fire Chief, Mike Slover, has advised that the recent rain was sufficient enough to alleviate the dry and hazardous conditions. The burn ban for the Town of Salem has been lifted as of July 27.
Residents are reminded that according to Salem Town Code of Ordinance, a burn permit from the Fire Department is required for any fire larger than 1 cubic yard. Only yard waste may be burned and burning is allowed between sunrise and sunset.
