Richmond burn ban has been cancelled

Effective, July 30, Fire Chief Rich Gallas of the Richmond Township Fire Protection District, has announced the open burning ban in the Village of Richmond (VOR) and the unincorporated areas of the Richmond Fire Protection District (RTFPD) that had been in effect since July 13,  has been rescinded.
Open burning in the Village and the Richmond Fire District now revert back to the burning ordinances established by the McHenry County Health Department and the Village of Richmond.  Camp fires and bonfires are once again allowed, but only via permit through the McHenry County Health Department.  Recent rains have lessened the risks associated with opening burning in our fire district to the point where the ban could be rescinded.  But keep in mind, with any open burns, always present a fire risk.  Residents should always exercise extreme caution when conducting outside burning in the Richmond Township Fire Protection District.
