Support Our Troops: Collection for care packages set for Sept. 8

The Annex, 39918 – 93rd St., Genoa City, is hosting a Support Our Troop Benefit on Saturday, Sept. 8 beginning at 5 p.m.
They will be collecting the following items in order to put together care pacakges.
Anyone attending that might have a family member serving can request a care package sent to them just bring them the address of the family member.
Items needed/requested:
Beef Jerky/Slim Jims
Powdered drink mixes (Kool-aid, Gatorade, Crystal Light)
Pumpkin seeds/Sunflower seeds
Bags of peanuts, cashews, mixed nuts, etc.
Tuna & Chicken Salad pouches (no cans)
Cans of soup or instant soups (ramen noodles, Mac n cheese cups)
Protein Bars
Snacks (Oreos, Fig Newtons, Cheese & Crackers)
Gum/Hard Candy (must be individually wrapped in large bags)
Mouthwash
Eye drops (Visine)
Hand Sanitizer
Feminine Hygiene Products
Socks (black, olive green – cotton or wool)
Vitamins (Multi-vitamins are always needed)
Tylenol, Motrin, Advil or Aspirin Packets
Disposable razors
Wet Wipes (pouches only, no big tubs)
Sunscreen
Batteries (AA, AAA, D, & 9 volt are most requested)
International Phone Cards
Beanie Babies (used to trade local kids for cool souvenirs and as a humanitarian gesture.
NO glass, aerosol cans, hotel samples (for toiletries) family sized items or any food items that could melt.  Monetary donations will be sent to IAVA and for shipping of care packages to our troops.
