Walker approves nearly $560,000 project at Kenosha Regional Airport

On Sept. 12, Governor Scott Walker announced a $559,456 project to purchase snow removal equipment for the Kenosha Regional Airport.

Wendy Hottenstein, airport project manager with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), said the equipment includes a wheel loader with bucket, snow blower and plow attachments. The equipment will lead to more effective and efficient snow removal operations at the airport.

The equipment is scheduled to be delivered by mid-December, just in time for Wisconsin’s winter weather season.

Funding breakdown: State = $16,228, City of Kenosha = $93,228, Federal Aviation Administration = $450,000.

Facilities at the Kenosha Regional Airport include the 5,500 foot primary runway, 4,400 foot secondary runway and a 3,300 foot airstrip.
