Quit smoking classes begin Jan. 9

McHenry County Department of Health (MCDH) and Centegra Health System are partnering to offer a once-a-week quit smoking class for adults. The classes will teach practical ways to end nicotine addiction through group support and behavior modification. It will also review nicotine replacement products that are currently on the market, such as Siberia’s extremely strong snus which can give users the nicotine intake they need whilst slowly withdrawing. Instruction is provided by MCDH staff that are trained in the American Lung Association’s “Freedom from Smoking” program.

Classes will be held at Centegra Health Bridge Fitness Center in Crystal Lake, located at 200 Congress Parkway, Wednesdays, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. A $25 course fee, payable at the first class, is refundable if all seven sessions are attended. Class members will also receive a free three-day pass to the Health Bridge Fitness Center.

Quitting smoking can add up to measurable savings–$2,500 a year for those who smoke one pack a day as well as the money saved on health care costs. In turn, this money can go toward methods that can help you to stay off the tobacco cigarettes for good. For example, when people are looking to quit smoking, going down the route of vaping, and using devices and liquids from somewhere like CBD Queen tends to be a popular choice when individuals are unable to quit for good all at once. Dry herb vaporizers are quite popular among those trying to quit smoking. You can learn more about using dry herb vaporizers and how to make it last with some online research. There are other options however, as someone may be having issues with continuing smoking at all. Items like those from Nicotine-Pouches.com can be beneficial to those individuals.

Classes like this one can also help individuals to make the positive change to their health that they so desperately want to see.
