Stateline DAnce to host ‘A Class Reunion’ dance May 31

7 p.m. to 11 p.m., dance back in time and celebrate your high school years and wear your high school era style or school colors (optional). Feel the difference of the 90-year-old “floating sprung floor” of the historic Twin Lakes Ballroom – (now known as Rumpoles Wonder Bar). It is the largest and oldest ballroom in Wisconsin and Illinois and is where many of the old time Big Bands played, including Glen Miller, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey, Gene Krupa, Benny Goodman and Lawrence Welk, who was the resident musician for the summer of 1931.

Admission of $15 for singles and $25 for couples includes a 45-minute East Coast Swing lesson by professional instructor Jack Ryan from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. Stateline also offers a one-hour beginner-basic class before the dance, from 5:45 to 6:45 p.m., for $10 per person – taught by professional instructors Steve and Trudy Johnson.

Enjoy an interesting variety of strict tempo music by DJ Mike of the Pfat Kats, a Showcase Dance and sumptuous appetizers. Attire is dressy/casual.

Rumpoles is located at 352 E. Main St., Twin Lakes. The GPS address is 3 N. Lake Ave., Twin Lakes, Wis. 53181, which is just 3.5 miles north of the Illinois border. For information call Ed Vardon at (312) 399-9090 or e-mail [email protected].
