2013 Medicare Education Options for Western Kenosha County

The Kenosha County Elder Benefit Specialist Program offers a twice-monthly Medicare Workshop called “Welcome to Medicare.” This session lasts two hours and is targeted to those new to Medicare, seniors, caregivers and those who work with older adults. Learn about the basics of Medicare coverage, options for private health and drug coverage, the appeals process as well as public benefits available to help with health care costs. Also offered are small group sessions or chats and one-on-one appointments.

 

Welcome to Medicare Workshops 2013:

• Friday, May 24, 10 a.m. to noon. Aurora Medical Center,10400 75th St. Hospital Entrance/Room E;

• Monday, June 17, 1 to 3 p.m. Twin Lakes Library, 110 S. Lake Ave., Twin Lakes;

• Thursday, Aug. 22, 2 to 4 p.m. Kenosha County Center, Hwys 50 and 45. Hearing Room B.

Medicare Chat Group:

You may wish to attend a small one and one-half hour discussion group to learn about Medicare. These groups are held twice per month at locations in the City of Kenosha. The chat group is limited to 10 persons. If equipment is available, they may watch a 10- to 15-minute Medicare educational video then ask questions and discuss with a group facilitator. Call ADRC for chat schedule and appointment.

 

Medicare counseling:

An appointment can be made to meet individually with benefit specialist staff or volunteers. Certain times and days of the week are set aside for private consultations. A volunteer is available on the last Monday of each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Westosha Community Center, Hwy C in Bristol.
