Powers Lake resident Thomas, Salack, 62, was found floating in the water off a Powers Lake beach by other swimmers the afternoon of June 25. Twin Lakes Police, Twin Lakes Rescue,Town of Randall Fire and Kenosha County Deputies responded to a call at 3:25 p.m. that a person was found unresponsive in the waters off of the Lake Side Park Bech in the Town of Randall.
Twin Lakes police responded for mutual aid because their officer was closer to the location than the deputies at the time of the call.
Witnesses had seen Salack enter the water approximately 25 minutes prior to him being found, but did not report hearing any swimmer distress during that time. CPR was administered by witnesses, but resuscitation was not successful. Drowning is suspected to be the cause of death pending the Medical Examiner’s Report. No foul play is suspected.
Detectives interviewed witnesses at the scene. No further information is available at this time.
