The Kenosha County Fair office is a flurry activity as the 93rd annual Kenosha County Fair nears. This year’s theme is, “Harvest the Fair.”
Gates will open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Aug 14 for the five-day run of the county fair. Fairgrounds are open 8 a.m. until midnight each night.
The Midway Wristband special returns on Aug. 14, from 4 to 9 p.m. and Aug.15, from 1 to 6 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 16, Children’s Day, there will be a special kiddies Matinee on the Midway from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with reduced prices on most rides. The children’s parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the southeast corner of the Free Acts Stage, followed by the pedal tractor pulls.
Fair secretary Jo Weidman said no changes have been made to admission prices. Daily admission is $9 for adults, ages 12 and over; $5 for children ages 8-11. Children ages 7 and under are free. Daily tickets are only sold at the gates on the day of entry. Parking is free.
Bring two cans of non-perishable food items on Wednesday and Thursday, between 8 .m. and noon and you can get into the fair for $5.
Senior Day is Wednesday, Aug. 14 and seniors ages 62 and over are admitted to the Fair for just $6.
There will be plenty of talent at the Creekside Stage: on Aug. 14 Southern Tradition will play. All performances are 8 p.m. to midnight. On Thursday, Aug. 15, The Toys; Friday Aug. 16, Rebel Grace; Saturday, Aug. 17, Tim Kasha and the Dukes of Dover and Sunday, Aug. 18, bella cain.
Don’t forget Uncle Kenny’s Polka Band plays Sunday, Aug. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m. followed by the Class of ’62. 3 to 7 p.m.
Throughout the fair there will junior and open class judging on livestock and home economic items, talent show, tractor parade, 4-H fish casting, hay bale throwing contest, horse show, garden tractor pulls. The junior Fair Livestock Auction begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.
Every day at the fair look for these fair favorites: Watson Woods Chain Saw Artist; Barnyard Farm Fun and Petting Zoo; Nick’s Kid Show; Close Encounter of the Exotic Kind; Cassidy Camels and Pony Rides; Ta Da the Clown and Roving Robots; The Jim Mitchell Magic Show; Morrison’s Enormous Elephants; American Legion Beer Garden; Butterfly Funhouse; Fishing Race and bingo hosted by KAFASI.
