A scam is hitting area merchants and Twin Lakes Police want area resident to be aware. Police are warning merchants of three people who are stealing from businesses while pitching an advertising program.
The Village of Mukwonago Police Department received information from a Walworth County investigators group regarding a group that has been operating in Lake Geneva.
The group consists of two white men and a white woman who enter businesses. One of the men engages the clerk in a discussion about an advertising program. While the clerk is distracted, the other two attempt thefts, according to Mukwonago police. The thefts may consist of personal property or store inventory.
At this point the subjects haven’t been identified and no warrants have been issues for them. The trio presents a business card and flyer to merchants.
