The Village of Silver Lake is hosting a scarecrow yard decoration contest. Make sure your display is registered for the judging by emailing [email protected]. Prizes will be presented for best entries. Judging will begin at 2 p.m. Oct. 26,
On Saturday, Oct. 26, a Twilight Parade will take place, featuring light up floats and vehicles. Prizes for best entries will be presented but registration is required. Register for entry at the same email shown above.
The parade begins at 6 p.m. at Riverview School. No candy can be thrown from floats, but can be distributed by walkers. The parade will take place rain or shine. This is a “quiet” parade: no sirens.
Harvest Fest
Harvest Fest will begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, at the Community Baptist Church 203 North Fourth Street.
There will be a bonfire, food, beverages, games and music. There will also be a pumpkin-carving contest.
