Special Olympics Polar Plunge is Feb. 8

The 14th annual Freezin’ for a Reason polar plunge for Special Olympics Wisconsin is set for Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Brat Stop 12304 75th St., Kenosha.

Check in and launch party is set for Friday, Feb. 7, at the brat Stop, from 6 to 9 p.m.  Turn in pledges, receive incentives, sign waivers and select your Plunge times between 12:20 and 3 p.m.

Only one team member needs to attend Early Check-In, but they must bring the following for each team member: registration form (if the individual did not register online); cash and check donations (each team member must have raised a minimum of $75); signed release of liability waiver. Note: If you have team members under the age of 18 they must have a parent/guardian sign this.

If you do not attend an Early Check-in event, you must check-in inside at the Registration area between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Bring the same information as above.

Polar Plunge parking and shuttles will be available at the Brat Stop.

Early plunges will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7 and is reserved for Toss your Boss, sponsors, officers and teams raising more than $2,500)

Opening ceremonies will be held 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 8. The Post Plunge Party, which is family friendly, includes food, beverages and live music from the New Vinyls.

From 1 to 5 p.m. the wing eating contest and beer pong tournament will be held.

At 2 p.m. contest category winners will be presented to the following: best individual costume; best team costume; best individual plunge and best team plunge.
