Jeneva Petersen, a Bristol resident, has studied with Visk for five years while performing in extra-curricular activities at Westosha Central High School, where she will graduate.

“She been in several theater productions,” Visk said. “Professional shows that took place at the College of Lake County and at the PML theater in downtown Antioch.”

Joining Petersen in the 2 p.m. Senior Recital held at the church on 36133 N. Fairfield Rd. is Lindenhurst resident Elizabeth Ferrier, who has studied piano with Visk for 10 years.

Ferrier, who graduated from Penn Foster High School in May, has already finished her first year at College of Lake County, where she earned marks on the Dean’s List.

Her accomplishments extend beyond the Dean’s List, collecting accolades in other endeavors throughout the years.

“Among her accomplishments is winning the Awana Citation Award and performing piano solos at IFCA National competitions,” Visk stated in a press release.

While both excelled in piano and theatrical productions, the two plan to pursue careers in the medical field.

Petersen, who works as a Certified Nursing Assistant, plans to attend Marquette University in the fall.

When she is not honing her skills on the piano or studying, she enjoys oil panting, according to the press release.

After Ferrier leaves College of Lake County, she plans on attending Grace Bible Church in the fall, where she will study nursing.

Furthermore, Ferrier remains dedicated to both her faith and the arts, enjoying bible quizzes, drama and photography.
