Shoes still needed for donation drive

Wilmot Key Club hopes to raise $1,000

The Wilmot Key Club is still in search of gently-used shoes to raise money for the community, according to a Wilmot Union High School news release.

“(They are) rising to the occasion again to try to raise money in order to continue their goal of providing service and assistance to the community,” the release said.

The effort, assisted by ‘Funds2org’ is an organization that collects gently-used shoes so they can be put to better use in third world and developing nations.

Based on the number of shoes and their weight, the Key Club raises $.40 per pound, and the shoes are sent to other nations in need.

“We in turn, are hoping to raise $1,000,” the release said.

The fundraiser, which accepts all types of gently-used shoes, with exception to ice skates and roller blades has established three locations through Wilmot Union High School.

Locations include outside the Main Office, south side of the building; next to the water fountains, east side of the building and inside the doors near the student parking lot.
