Although the first installment of Twin Lakes’ Music in Central Park had been cancelled due to weather July 28, Burlington High School’s “Orange Crush Band” more than made up for it Thursday night, engaging dozens of residents.

Music in the Park, a new program for the Village, was developed to enrich Twin Lakes.

According to Jane Bodi, owner of Bodi’s Bakery, the band accomplished that mission.

“It was a wonderful performance and they did plenty of songs,” Bodi said. “The crowd got into the music.”

Led by incoming BHS junior Rachel Gebel, who had some anxiety entering the Thursday’s performance, felt uplifted by the people of Twin Lakes.

“I was really nervous about it at first, but it went great, everyone loved it,” Gebel said.

Music in the Park, played near the caboose in Twin Lakes, is not done with its slate of performers, however.

On deck for August 11 is Tombeau Road, with Local Favorite to follow on August 18.

The full story will appear in the Aug. 12 print edition of the Twin Lakes Report.
