Fundraising website instrumental in purchase

Courtesy of a partnership with Anni Womack and Joel Craven of Astraios Financial/Horace Mann, Lakewood School in Twin Lakes brought in seven new IPads this fall, according to a release issued by the school.

Part of the collaboration was helping teachers use donors choose.org, a fundraising website dedicated to classroom improvements, the release added.

“The teacher spent time learning how to leverage donorschoose.org by posting projects for classroom supplies they would use to enhance the educational experience of their students,” the release stated.

The global website drew in parents, community members and corporations and groups from around the world to help fund the seven new technological items in its entirety.

Lakewood School is thankful to Sara Markee, Emily Battisti, Rachel Bennett, Alicia Jones, Stephanie Nelson and Kylie Warner for their involvement in this project.

For more information on Donor’s Choose, go to donorschoose.org and keep an eye out for future Lakewood projects aimed at enriching the experience of our students.
