The Sharing Center announces its holiday gift assistance program and holiday food drive for eligible families in Western Kenosha County. Donations are being accepted until Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Qualifying families who meet specific income and western Kenosha County residency guidelines can sign up to be sponsored. Families provide a wish list of their child’s needs to be shared with the sponsor.
Families who wish to be sponsored must fill out registration forms. Completed forms must be returned on or before Friday, Nov. 18. Families who miss the deadline will have access to some basic general gifts until Friday, Dec. 23.
The Sharing Center is seeking people to sponsor children. Sponsors and children are paired anonymously. Using the child’s gift list, the sponsor purchases gifts and returns them unwrapped to The Sharing Center, 25700 Wilmot Road, Trevor, no later than Friday, Dec. 2. The donation of educational gifts to be provided to children who are not sponsored or whose families have missed the registration deadline is also encouraged. These gifts can be brought to The Sharing Center anytime up until Wednesday, Dec. 21.
Registration can be done online or at The Sharing Center.
The center will also accept food donations until Wednesday, Dec. 21. Foods such as turkey, ham, chicken, potatoes, gravy, stuffing and dessert. Registration is not required.
