Westosha Central High School qualified one for the WIAA Division 1 girls state swim meet, and nearly had another, following its sectional contributions to the Lake Geneva Badger co-op team.

The Badger co-op, which captured its fifth consecutive sectional title Saturday, edged Racine Case by 53 points at Kenosha Tremper.

The co-op consists of Badger, Westosha Central, Wilmot Union High School, Walworth Big Foot and Williams Bay.

However, the Falcons played a crucial role in helping the Badger co-op secure the title.

Lauren Pryor, of Wilmot Union High School, notched a personal best in the 100-meter butterfly for Lake Geneva Badger's co-op team at sectionals last weekend.

Among the Falcon contributors was sophomore Eden Wember, who qualified for the state meet at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Saturday, after she helped Badger’s 200-yard freestyle relay team to a second-place sectional finish.

Eden Wember, who finished eighth in both the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events, teamed up with Katelyn O’Brien, Molly Dover, and Theresa VanSchyndel in the 200-freestyle competition.

Meanwhile, Eden Wember and Westosha Central sophomore Claire Koeppel partnered with Cora Rafe and VanSchyndel on the third-place 400-yard freestyle relay squad.

Koeppel added fifth in the 200 yard freestyle and sixth in the 500 freestyle.

For Westosha Central junior Rylee Kennell, who finished fourth in the 100 yard breaststroke, came up less than a second from qualifying for the state meet.

Kennell’s time of 1 minute, 8.89 seconds was 72/100 seconds shy of the establish mark of 1.08.17.

Junior Elise Wember placed seventh in the 200 individual medley and eighth in the 100-yard butterfly.

Wilmot Union High School’s Lauren Pryor, a junior, finished behind Elise Wember in the butterfly.

Senior Sarah Verzal placed 14th in the 100-yard freestyle.
