Bykowski, Gilbert, Mickelson and Muhlenbeck commit to higher ed.

Four student-athletes from Westosha Central High School signed their National Letters of Intent in the school lobby Tuesday night.

The four, who followed the signings of Alyssa Hrncar and Amanda Sabourin last week, were baseball players Tanner Bykowski and Garrett Gilbert along with Kira Mickelson in softball and Drake Muhlenbeck for volleyball.

Bykowski has joined McHenry County College, a National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association Division 2 school in Illinois.

Gilbert plans to attend Creighton University, an NCAA Division 1 school in Omaha, Nebraska.

Meanwhile, for Mickelson, she heads to DeKalb, Illinois, where she will attend Division 1 Northern Illinois University.

Muhlenbeck expects to attend Erskine College, a Division 1 school in Due West, South Carolina.

The Westosha Report attended the signing ceremony, where family and friends showed support for the student-athletes, who are shown below in alphabetical order.
